How much would it cost for braces?

If you ever had any experiences with the whole ordeal of getting braces please continue. I would appreciate your effort if you gave me an estimate on how much braces would cost for me in my case. Overall, I have pretty straight teeth except for a medium sized gap between my two front teeth. I also have a crooked teeth located on my upper jaw and a slight overbite. Do getting braces hurt and if they do which direction should you sleep overnight? Thank you for your consideration:)
