Im Getting Braces, help?

Hi, im getting braces in a week. I have sorta screwed up teeth, like my canine sticks out in front of all my other teeth and the one next to it is hiding in the back. When i get these on how soon will i start to see changes in my teeth cuz i havent smiled with teeth in years.
