Do you think that the movie "Crash" is an accurate portrayal of race relations in the US?

Just saw the movie... my initial reaction was that it seemed extremely exaggerated and was purposefully trying to evoke "white guilt." Is that my optimistic ignorance talking? Or are things really like that? I am white, but I live in a city with a significant (nearly 50%) Hispanic population, and there are not--to my knowledge--many pervasive "race issues" like are depicted in "Crash." I was close friends with several minorities at school and they never complained either. Do I just happen to live in a "good" city?
